From Postpartum Struggles to Strength: How I Lost 60lbs, Transformed My Body, and Found My Energy Again
I have always struggled with my weight for as far as I can remember. Growing up I was really slim (although I did not see myself that way) and used to practice sports all the time. When I became an adult and started going to university, I completely stopped with the sports and decreased moving my body, and overtime I progressively gained weight. From time to time, I would try a different diet and lose weight, just to gain it all back. Even when I was at a "normal" BMI weight, my body fat was always high.
In July 2022, I got pregnant and gained over 23 kg/ 50lb. Postpartum, I put all my focus on my new baby and completely neglected my most basic needs. At 9 months postpartum, I weighed the same from when I was 9 months pregnant. At that point, I decided I needed to make time for myself and to be in a better shape to show up for my baby with the energy that she deserves.
In December 2023 I joined an Orange Theory studio and a couple months later I started working with a dietitian. My dietitian put together a meal plan for me with the goal of losing body fat while preserving muscle mass. The plan included a shake with whey protein for breakfast. She recommended LEANFIT for the great macros, clean ingredients, and sweet flavor. I bought the LEANFIT vanilla protein powder and have used it daily for my shakes, but also used it in my favorite foods: oatmeal, ice cream, waffles, etc.
After losing 27kg / 60 pounds and reducing my body fat in half while keeping my lean mass, I am now focusing on maintaining my weight while gaining muscle. LEANFIT was a big part of my weight loss journey, and is now central to my muscle gain journey. After being featured by Orange Theory to their 1300+ studios across the globe, I have received a lot of attention from others with similar goals (lose fat/gain muscle), and I now have an Instagram page where as a LEANFIT ambassador, I inspire others to incorporate more protein into their lives and achieve the same results I did.
